Internationally competitive Maritime Education for Modern Seagoing and High Quality Port Services

General objectives of the project and IVKHK participation:

  • to connect marine simulation centers throughout the Baltic Sea;
  • create opportunities for students to train their skills in virtual learning environments and simulators;
  • to develop the Baltic Sea network of simulators used in maritime education by enhancing co-operation between educational institutions;
  • to develop cargo-handling curriculum, study materials for launching workplace-based learning at IVKHK in cooperation with local companies (SilSteve, Sillamäe seaport).

Within the project the partners will:

  • harmonize the level of project partners' simulators and connect them to a single network;
  • develop or update necessary syllabi for joint student simulation exercises;
  • harmonize in-service training programs for seaport workers at international level (cargo-handler, talman);
  • acquire modules required for the dynamic positioning of ships and develop the corresponding curricula.
